Sorrento: Farm Tour with Cheese Tasting & Pizza Making Class

1.Farm Tour with Cheese Tasting & Pizza Making Class

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 503 reviews Our pick

Join Francesco and his family at Primaluce, a hill farm above Sorrento. Walk among lemons, olives, grapes, and animals, watch mozzarella and caciotta being spun, then make your own pizza. Pickup and drop-off from central Sorrento, lunch, wine, limoncello, and dessert are included.

“This was a wonderful experience at Primaluce. This family run farm in the hills of Sorrento was heaven. Francesco and his family were amazing hosts, teaching us about all the make at the farm and then teaching us to make our own pizza. Even though it was a group of around 20, they made an effort to learn all of our names and make us feel truly welcome. Our pizzas were amazing, and it was a wonderful day. Before leaving, do yourself a favor and try their meloncello. Best one I tried in the area.”

Travel by air-conditioned minivan from central Parma to family-run producers of Parmigiano Reggiano and Prosciutto di Parma. The half-day tour ends after tastings, while the full-day option adds a trattoria lunch and traditional balsamic vinegar tasting. Guides may include Lisa, Claudia, Marika, or Giacomo.

“A incredible day learning, tasting and appreciating the big three culinary delicacies of the area. Really informative, and easy to understand. The host was fantastic and the vendors all highly skilled. The group was kept quite small, which made the experience more personal as you were easily able to ask questions. It was awesome being able to try products that are not common or easily available at home, such as 72month aged parmigiano reggiano and 12 to 24 year/aged balsamic vinegar D.O.P. Don’t let the price deter you, its incredible value for money as the tastings and lunch is more than generous. Worth every cent, as we went home with…”

Taste of Lake Como: 4 Wines Paired with Local Cheese Charcuterie

3.Taste of Lake Como: 4 Wines Paired with Local Cheese Charcuterie

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 197 reviews · 1 hour 30 minutes (approx.) · from $79Best value

Meet your sommelier at Capitan Drake in Como for four to five wine pours paired with Italian cheeses, prosciutto, buffalo mozzarella, and other snacks. Sandu and Giuseppe have hosted tastings here, explaining grapes, regions, winemaking, and food pairings in a relaxed group of up to 12.

“We enjoyed the wines and learning about some new regions. My husband and I were seated with another group that had 6 people. Their tasting included several more wines that ours even though I never had an option to select additional wines. So it was a bit awkward for everyone when we didn’t get served what others at the table were but still had to listen about those wines. I would recommend that the operator serve everyone at the table the same wines.”
